Hi ho, hi ho, off to Sydney did I go...

This will be my first entry that will be of actual some insight into the inner workings of my mind.... (dramatic pause)

Having just returned from NSW to attend the marital nuptials of a close family friend (Congratulations again Sarah and Michael) I had the oppourtunity to enjoy a few notable experiences that I feel while not being completely constructive do make for interesting stories... First I had the fun of driving Melbourne to Sydney (about 870km each way) during my stints behind the wheel I was able to open my car up a little and put some good long running at some decent average speeds (just a touch over 160km, peaking around 200km). Australia is one of those unfortunate countries that believes on limiting drivers through inadequate road rules rather than educating people on the proper use of their 1 - 2 tonne projectiles that routinely traverse the route from home - work / school / shops etc. It was during the return leg of my journey that something unexpected happened. While traveling at 160km (Speed limit of 110km) I passed and was detected by the radar of the highway patrol... pursit ensured where I quickly pulled over ready to accept my fate (loss of licence). The officer asked the standard questions of license, reason for traveling at such speed etc... with no excuse spinging to mind I simply told the truth, I had no reason. After a brief check of my identification, said officer simply said "Slow down, slow down...." and left me to drive the rest of the way home without even a fine. It took quite a while for this fact to sink in and accpet what had actually just transpired... Still not sure why he did but definatley no complaints from me :-)
